Description:

In de komende tien jaar neemt het aantal nieuwe gevallen van kanker in ons land fors toe. Dat komt door de vergrijzing: kanker is een ziekte die je vaak op oudere leeftijd overkomt. In Noord-Brabant, Limburg en Flevoland slaat de vergrijzing het hardst toe, het aantal mensen dat getroffen wordt door de ziekte kanker zal in deze provincies dan ook fors toenemen. Nieuwe behandelmethoden voor kanker zijn daarom nog steeds van levensbelang. Kankeronderzoekfonds Limburg steunt hoogwaardig medisch-wetenschappelijk onderzoek dat wordt verricht in het Maastricht UMC+.
